Sarah Monteiro

Sarah Monteiro is a Consultant Psychotherapist for Ibiza Calm based in Mallorca. She holds a master’s degree in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths, University of London, graduating with distinction, and is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Sarah has over thirteen years’ experience working within the mental health field, supporting adults and young people across addiction services, psychotherapy settings, and community mental health care. She previously worked with Somerset Drug and Alcohol Services (SDAS), funded by the NHS, and as a Psychotherapist at Somerset Counselling Centre, providing both short and long term psychodynamic therapy. Sarah has also worked with Ibiza Calm over the past seven years in both therapeutic and support roles.
Alongside her private practice in Mallorca, where she works both online and in person, Sarah continues her professional development through ongoing study in feminist philosophy and psychoanalysis. She is also an active member of a feminist thinkers group within psychoanalysis and facilitates a monthly case management group with fellow therapists.
Sarah has a particular interest in trauma, addiction, identity, and relational work. Her therapeutic approach encourages clients to explore themselves with curiosity, creativity, and compassion, supporting them in moving beyond self-judgement and towards greater emotional freedom and authenticity.
Outside of her clinical work, Sarah enjoys nature, art, swimming, running, reading, and spending time outdoors.
