IV Therapy
IV Therapy
IV therapy is a versatile and effective treatment option for mental health conditions (including anxiety, depression, and compulsive behaviours), substance addiction (alcohol or drugs) and dependencies (such as prescription medicine dependency). Used in conjunction with psychotherapy, nutrition support, and other specialised therapeutic and restorative treatments, by delivering essential nutrients and medications directly into the bloodstream, it offers rapid relief, customisable formulations, and holistic support for our clients on their journey toward wellness and recovery.

What is IV therapy?
Intravenous (IV) therapy involves delivering fluids, medications, vitamins, and other essential nutrients directly into the bloodstream through a needle and tubing system. This method allows for rapid absorption and distribution of substances throughout the body, bypassing the digestive system.
How does IV therapy work?
During an IV therapy session, a specially trained healthcare professional inserts a small needle into a vein, typically in the arm. The chosen solution, which can include a variety of substances such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and medications, is then administered slowly into the bloodstream. The dosage and composition of the IV solution are tailored to each individual’s specific needs and health goals.
Why is IV therapy good for treating mental health conditions?
IV therapy offers several benefits for individuals struggling with mental health conditions:
→ Rapid relief: By bypassing the digestive system, IV therapy allows for faster absorption of nutrients and medications, leading to quicker symptom relief for conditions such as depression, anxiety, and mood disorders.
→ Nutrient optimisation: Many mental health issues are linked to nutritional deficiencies. IV therapy can replenish essential vitamins and minerals directly into the bloodstream, promoting brain health and overall well-being.
→ Customised formulations: IV therapy allows healthcare providers to tailor the treatment to address specific mental health concerns. For example, amino acids such as L-tryptophan and L-tyrosine can be included to support neurotransmitter production and balance.
→ Hydration: Dehydration can exacerbate symptoms of anxiety and depression. IV therapy ensures adequate hydration, which is essential for optimal brain function and mood regulation.
→ Reduced side effects: Compared to oral medications, IV therapy often results in fewer gastrointestinal side effects, making it a more tolerable option for individuals with sensitive stomachs.

Why is IV therapy good for treating addiction?
→ Detoxification: the treatment can be utilised during the detox phase to help manage withdrawal symptoms by providing hydration, electrolyte balance, and medications to alleviate discomfort.
→ Nutritional support: Substance abuse can deplete the body of essential nutrients, leading to physical and mental health complications. IV therapy replenishes vitamins and minerals to support recovery and overall wellness.
→ Craving reduction: Certain IV formulations contain amino acids and other nutrients that help reduce cravings for drugs or alcohol, supporting long-term sobriety efforts.
→ Improved mental clarity: By restoring nutrient levels and promoting detoxification, IV therapy can enhance cognitive function and clarity, aiding individuals in making positive behavioural changes and staying committed to recovery.
→ Holistic approach: IV therapy complements other addiction treatment modalities, such as counselling and medication-assisted therapy, by addressing nutritional deficiencies and promoting physical well-being.
